Virtual Summer Exhibition 2020

We live in challenging times.  All our lives have been blighted by the COVID-19 pandemic in varying degrees.

It has been a difficult time for artists: the stress of lockdown has upset the rhythm of creative activity for many people, discretionary spending has plummeted and all the usual outlets for art sales vanished overnight back in March.  The Richmond Art Society’s decades-long tradition of Summer Exhibitions has been interrupted for the first time in living memory.

A Message From Our Chairman

In such circumstances we find ourselves confined to the virtual world, and herein we present to you the work of more than 40 of our members who have overcome adversity and continued to produce wonderful art for you to enjoy.  I’d like to thank all our contributors, and the committee of the RAS who have done such a wonderful job of putting together this virtual exhibition.

We are taking no commission on sales and instead have donated to the Landmark Arts Centre, where we hope to exhibit again in 2021.  The Landmark is a charity and now in dire financial straits.  Please help us to support them so that we can enjoy exhibitions, concerts and all their other activities again in the near future.

We hope you enjoy the show and continue to support the arts in Richmond.
