FEATURED ARTISTNatalie Bird

Natalie paints in watercolour, pastels and oil. Her intent is to create atmospheric landscapes, conveying a connection to a place she has recently visited. She sketches and paints as much as possible from life, and relies on sketches, memory and photos when back in the studio.
She studied Art History and Architecture at university. Having worked in the medical sector for over 20 years she recently gave up full-time work in 2023 in order to focus more on developing her painting. She lives in South West London with her husband, and two dogs and has been selected on a number of occasions to exhibit at the Mall Galleries, and has also had a painting accepted for the RA summer exhibition.
Natalie says “I always drew as a child, and spent many hours copying and colouring in Snoopy and Walt Disney cartoons. I am sure this helped me with developing an artistic eye. As for painting, that came much later, at school and then on art courses over the last few years.
Painting and drawing is part of me, and I lose myself a bit when I’m in the world of creativity – it is good for the soul and everyone should do it”.
